It is not the first time that is heard In Gainesville of incidents happening between cellmates, which brings to our attention the need for a private security company that would conduct all the procedures inside the jail.

The article describes an unfortunate incident that happened in campus, a non-student was attacked and raped by a man who no one knows who is, which brings concern to many parents and students. Those concern give space for a private security company, with cameras and cars in campus since the local police is not being able to stop those crimes from happening. The private company would 100% focus in certain areas which would reduce the crime rate to minimum numbers.

This article makes me think about the fact that delivery drives have very little security in their jobs. Some companies issue gps in their logos on top of the cars, but many does not even work. In this case a delivery man had his pizzas stolen from him. Delivery drivers have a problem with safety, luckily it was only the pizzas, but it could have been much worse. The idea proposed is to manufacture cameras in their uniform and in their cars on top of the gps in order to intimidate criminals. This idea is simplistic, tangible, and has a possible market.

It looks like you had a lot of good, general ideas on how to potentially go about solving the problems in the articles you posted. However, the assignment rather wanted us to focus on problem identification. Identifying a problem, why it exists, and who could potentially benefit from a solution (not identifying THE solution) will help us ultimately come up with our business idea. I just bring this up because I didn’t want you to miss out on going through the process Dr. Pryor asked us to follow for the assignment, and have it impact your ability to be successful in future assignments.

ReplyDeleteI thought this was a very good post and you definitely noted areas in which there are local opportunities and needs. It is very urgent that students and staff at UF prepare for flu season and take the necessary precautions to prevent from getting sick and catching a virus. Also, I do agree with you that delivery drivers have very little security with their jobs and there should be something or some system in place that allows them a little more safety. It was a shame to see a driver get stolen from and have to deal with that fall out. Also, prison security will always be a point of discussion and this was definitely alarming and will raise questions.
